Under the general supervision of a Medical Director or Managing Physician/Psychiatrist in a state department, institution, or agency, functions as a specialist/consultant in the field of psychiatry; performs clinical responsibilities in accord with the standard of care and unified service systems; performs psychiatric functions in accord with legal/judicial mandates and Patient’s Bill of Rights; performs technical applications to meet The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and other relevant accreditation bodies standards; does other related duties as required.
At the discretion of the Division’s Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer the Clinical Psychiatrist must be willing to enter into a collaborative agreement/joint protocol with an Advance Practice Nurse who will provide services to the patient, as allowed by the NJ Division of Behavioral Health Services (“DBHS”), in conjunction with the attending psychiatrist.

CERTIFICATION: Possession of current certification as a diplomate in the specialty of psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of clinical experience in the practice of Psychiatry subsequent to Board Certification.
NOTE: A sub-specialty board certification in Addictions, Geriatrics, or Forensics may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
NOTE: A sub-specialty board certification in Child or Adolescent may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
LICENSE: Possession of an Unrestricted License to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.
Possession of an unrestricted State of New Jersey Controlled Dangerous Substances License.
Possession of an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Registration number.
Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
