Busy physician and single mom seeking kind, reliable and responsible student for after school afternoon/early evening care and support for two girls in East Harlem, ages 11 and 12. Hours would be from about 2:15-6:15pm weekly, and sometimes 3:15-6:15pm depending on the weekday and scheduled after school activity.
Most shifts to involve being present to support routines and structure, or accompanying to and from school or activities. (School for younger daughter is 3 blocks from home.)
Ideal candidate is someone who:
- Enjoys spending time with girls ages 10 and 12
- Dependable, punctual, excellent communicator
- Comfortable navigating public transportation in NYC
- Can commit to at least 2-3 weekdays per week
- Loves dogs – we have a very friendly Boston Terrier
We’re hoping to find someone who enjoys conversations with bright, inquisitive kids, and would like to become a consistent, positive adult presence in their lives. Reliability, warmth, and good judgment and more important than extensive childcare experience.
