About the Campaign:
Join us in making a difference in New York’s future by working on State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky’s re-election campaign! The Stavisky for Senate campaign is seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated interns to assist in our mission to drive positive change in our community. Our campaign is committed to supporting the working class, encouraging our local businesses, and fighting for women’s rights, and we’re looking for passionate individuals who want to gain hands-on experience in the political arena.
Position Overview:
As a Campaign Intern, you will support various aspects of our campaign operations, gaining valuable experience in grassroots organizing, political strategy, and public relations. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn about the electoral process, contribute to impactful projects, and work closely with experienced campaign staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizing and attending campaign events, including rallies, fundraisers, and community meetings.
- Support voter outreach efforts, including phone banking, canvassing, and managing volunteer activities.
- Help with social media management and content creation to enhance our online presence.
- Conduct research and provide analysis on policy issues, opposition candidates, and voter demographics.
- Assist with data entry, maintaining voter databases, and generating reports.
- Provide general administrative support, including drafting communications, preparing materials, and coordinating with team members.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in politics, public policy, and campaign strategy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Previous volunteer or internship experience in a political or nonprofit setting is a plus, but not required.
