The Speech and Language Pathologist assumes primary responsibility at the Torch school for providing services for children needing evaluation and/or remediation for speech and language deficits. Bilingual therapy is provided in Spanish and English as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Speech Pathologist -Bilingual n the TORCH Program implements treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development, utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students’ strengths, deficits and prepares written evaluation reports as part of the intake process, develops IEP goals and objectives for students evaluated in the intake process.
Education & Experience
A New York State Speech Pathology License, New York State Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped and New York State Bilingual Extension Certificate (for Bilingual Therapists) are required, experience with language impaired children.
