This job is for a non-profit called opinions.wiki – a Wikipedia for Opinions where volunteers organize and compare opposing viewpoints on complex topics—from politics to products—so you can understand not just what people think, but why.
This job includes future potential hiring for a career site startup, Cloudflare, and a Series C startup. You’ll gain first-hand experience in organic growth marketing, but also this internship will teach you how to grow brands at exponential pace and fast track your career to get promotions as quickly as possible in marketing.
If you are not interested in marketing but do care about the world, we are making a big impact on the world in getting our neighbors to better understand each other. This internship hands you the reins to make big decisions and the freedom to make demonstrable impact while other internships give side tasks that don’t enable growth.
Join us to be a part of something greater.
The internship starts end of May-beginning of June 2025. Role is hybrid in NYC.
Requirements
You must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior college student in NYC. Recommended majors are Marketing, History, Political Science, Data Science, Communications, Entrepreneurship/Business Administration. This is a hybrid job. Recent graduates should direct their attention to larger companies rather than here.
You must have an opinion. Without a strong stance, you’ll lack critical thinking.
You must have an amateur interest in several fields. Whether that’s from educational YouTube or multiple majors.
Responsibilities
You’ll be working in multiple marketing channels, no ads, to grow a user base from scratch:
- Facebook (groups, pages, etc.)
- TikTok
- Twitter/X
- Substack
You’ll conduct user interviews and learn automation techniques.
We’ll help educate you on career ladders, how executives set them up for large companies and what managers are looking for in promotions. We’ll show you previous interview questions for marketers and have you design interview questions to get an upper hand on your future career endeavors (it’s basically a cheat code). Finally, you’ll learn what types of content works well on each social media platform (did you know Google changed SEO to display Reddit more often?).
Qualifications
The only qualifications we require are your will to learn and tech savviness. If you’re not self-learning in your down time, it won’t be a good match. If your goal isn’t to get promoted to an executive or manager position within 5 years (typically, it’s 10-20), then we think someone else deserves the knowledge we’re sharing. And if you’re not playing around with AI tools, then you’re falling behind.
There are no ad dollars that you can spend. Learn organic growth without it.
