Creative Design Services Fellowship
New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) located in downtown Newark, NJ, is the country’s most diverse performing arts center, and the artistic, cultural, educational and civic center of New Jersey — where great performances and events enhance and transform lives every day. NJPAC brings diverse communities together, providing access to all and showcasing the state’s and world’s best artists while acting as a leading catalyst in the revitalization of its home city.
We are currently hiring for our Fellows Program. The Creative Design Services department is the Arts Center’s in-house marketing, advertising, promotion, design and web team. We are seeking a passionate, interactive web, social media and/or print designer with excellent contemporary visual sensibilities who is willing to push the envelope while they maintain integrity, high quality and work with an established brand language. As part of our team, you will be involved in creating print brochures, pamphlets, postcards, outdoor billboards, large format posters and will participate in the creation of digital and web banners and ads.

Schedule
- This is an eight-week summer fellowship running June 9 to August 1, 2025
- Must be available Tuesday mornings; additional days and times to be discussed with the supervisor
- 20 hours per week
Responsibilities - Provide full support for the designers and copywriters, assisting and contributing on all aspects of a project’s development
- Assist in designing print and digital assets to market upcoming events and performances
Minimum Qualifications
- Current student working on BA/BFA/MA/MFA in communication design, graphic design or related degree
- Knowledge of and experience with web design and print design
- Knowledge of and experience with typography and grid structures
- An effective communicator and good listener who enjoys working collaboratively with members of the creative and project management teams
- Demonstrated aptitude with MAC OS platform. Skills in applications including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro)
- Strong initiative and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, non-profit arts environment
- Excellent organizational skills combined with impeccable attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Photography skills are a plus, but not required
- Preferred candidate has knowledge of marketing campaigns in entertainment and/or arts education
